Tecno Pouvoir 3 Review: Anything else to offer Aside From the Battery?

Hello guys! Here is our Tecno Pouvoir 3 review. In this post we’re going to make a review on the phone’s camera, display, gaming, battery and more. Just as you know, Tecno is one of the popular smartphone brands known for its affordable models in Nigeria.

When Tecno released the Pouvoir 3 into the Nigerian market sometime last month, May 2019, the battery capacity was what caught people’s attention the most. However aside from the 5,000 mAh battery capacity, what else is there to talk about concerning the phone? So, here’s a review of what we think about the Tecno Pouvoir 3. Do give it a read.

Design And Build

At the first peek, you might mistake the Pouvoir 3 to the Pouvoir 2. Well, it is quite identical to its predecessor, which was made available sometime last year. And moreover, the latest Pourvoir 3 is not much of a different in terms of innards.

However the Pouvoir 3 has a flat notch display design which sets it apart from the Pouvoir 2.

Tecno Pouvoir 3 is fitted with a 6.2-inch IPS LCD display with a FHD+ resolution of 720 x 1500 pixels. The display has a flat notch as mentioned earlier and this takes the aspect ratio to 19.9 and the screen-to-body ratio to 83.5%.

Software And Hardware

The Tecno Pouvoir 3 falls below our expectation on this segment. The smartphone is powered by mediatek chipset (quad-core 1.3 GHz) with 2GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage. Thus, it’s not the best smartphone for multiple tasking and heavy duty apps usage. Worse yet, the smartphone runs out of the box on Android 8.1 Oreo with no hope of ever getting an upgrade to Android 9.0 Pie.

The camera interface is quite simple as we have seen in the previous Tecno smartphones. The images captured by the 13MP rear camera and 13MP front camera of the Pouvoir 3 are well to do. Especially in this era where many smartphones have multiple rear camera, the single on the Pouvoir 3 did not disappoint at all. Moreover this device supports video recording at 1080p at 30fps.

This smartphone can play games but it’s still not the best phone for gaming. Except we’re talking of games like candy crush, temple run, Ayo etc. then we can say it plays them well. However, heavy duty games like PUBG, GTA and FIFA 2018 lagged behind during the Pouvoir 3 game test. So I won’t recommend this smartphone for gamers.

Battery Life

Right from the very first day the smartphone was lunched, the most talk about feature in this device was the large battery capacity. Tecno Pouvoir 3 gets the power from a 5,000 mAh battery without a fast charging support. Thus, it took me close to 4 hours to get a battery full.

Moreover, the battery life of this smartphone is not hyped. Tecno Pouvoir 3 is a battery beast device that you can always count on.

Tecno Pouvoir 3 Review: Conclusion

• I won’t recommend this phone for a gamer because of its low GPU.

• I won’t recommend this phone for a heavy user.

• Tecno Pouvoir 3 camera is nice but again, it’s not the best mid-range camera smartphone out there.

• However if you are looking for a strong battery phone to buy, I would definitely recommend the Tecno Pouvoir 3 first before any other.

• The smartphone is 4G enabled and according to the specs on paper, it should support Glo 4G LTE.
